IQF QCF Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business Leadership

Total 120 credits. Delivery Language - English.
Equivalent to Year 1 of a University Master's degree. You can top up another 60 credits to get a Master's degree.

The IQF Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Business Leadership is a comprehensive program consisting of 120 credits, covering key aspects of strategic management and leadership. The modules are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary for effective leadership in the business environment.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration provides its learners with realistic and appropriate career related guidance for the 21st Century markets. Best of all, the Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration creates an opportunity for learners to complete their MBA degree from any recognised university at an advanced level.

Admission Criteria

Learners will need to be over the age of 19, and must demonstrate one of the following:

Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) 
OR
Level 6 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification) 
OR 
Mature applicant with A level (or equivalent) and work experience

​AND
English requirements:
If the learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency at a minimum of CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level C1 from a recognised English test provider or IELTS level 7.0-8.0 in each components.

​What units are covered


​IQF Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA) focuses on 3 core areas - Management, Finance & HRM and Research. ​It consists of 5 mandatory units, each containing 20 credits and 2 optional units, each containing 10 credits to be delivered generally over 1 academic year.
Strategic Leadership and Management (20 credits)
This module provides a concise yet comprehensive exploration of strategic leadership and management. Focused on cultivating essential skills for effective leadership, it covers strategic planning, analysis, and implementation within organizations. Students will gain insights into evaluating business environments, formulating competitive strategies, and honing their abilities in strategic decision-making. This module serves as a foundational pillar in developing adept leaders well-versed in navigating the complexities of contemporary business landscapes.
Business Strategy And Innovation (20 credits)
This module is designed to delve into the dynamic realms of business strategy and innovation. Students will explore strategic planning and execution in the business context, emphasising innovation strategies and product development. The module also equips participants with the analytical skills needed to assess market trends and understand customer behavior. Through a blend of theory and practical application, this module prepares individuals to strategically position businesses for success in an ever-evolving marketplace.
OrganiSational culture and change (20 credits)
This  module focuses on the critical dynamics of organisational culture and change. Participants delve into leadership theories and styles, addressing motivation, communication, and team dynamics. The module equips learners to effectively manage organisational change and shape a positive, adaptive culture. With a practical approach, this module empowers individuals to navigate and lead transformations within the organisational context.
GLOBAL MARKET DYNAMICS ​(20 CREDITS)
This module provides a concise exploration of global market dynamics. Students delve into strategic marketing planning and execution, examining innovation strategies and product development on a global scale. The module emphasises the analysis of market trends and customer behavior in the context of the ever-evolving global business landscape. Participants gain practical insights to navigate and thrive in the complexities of the international marketplace.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT FOR LEADERS (20 CREDITS)
This module focuses on financial management tailored for leaders. Covering financial analysis, interpretation, budgeting, and cost management, it equips participants with strategic financial planning skills. The module emphasises performance measurement and guides leaders in making informed financial decisions to drive organisational success. With a practical orientation, it enhances financial acumen for effective leadership.
LEADERSHIP ETHICS AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (20 CREDITS)
In this module, participants delve into the intersection of leadership ethics and corporate social responsibility. The curriculum covers ethical decision-making in a leadership context and explores sustainable business practices. Emphasising the importance of responsible leadership, the module equips individuals to integrate ethical considerations into their strategic leadership roles, fostering socially responsible business practices.

How it is delivered

The programme will typically be delivered as a 1 year full time study or a total of 42 weeks (including assignment submission weeks). An academic year is divided into six learning blocks with 7 weeks duration each. There will be three (3) contact days per week or a total of twenty one (21) contact hours per week; and thirteen (13) hours of self‐directed learning per week.

How it is assessed

All units will be internally assessed by the delivering institute. Learner will need to show that they meet each of the assessment criteria detailed within each unit, to the required standard for the level of the unit.

Certificates are awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade following assessment of the candidate’s portfolio of work.

Grade Scheme:
  • Distinction: 70% - 100%
  • Merit: 60% - 69%
  • Pass: 50% - 59%
  • Fail: Below 45%

A assessor will examine the evidence and make a decision which is checked by the internal followed by the external verifier and passed for certification. The achievement rates for this qualification are outstanding.
