Diploma in Beauty Therapy

_Overview:

The Beauty Therapy Diploma Level 2 provides you with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you need to enable you to perform manicures, pedicures, nail art, facials, eye treatments, waxing and make-up. In addition to participating in practical sessions you will also be learning about anatomy and physiology and business studies. The Hair and Beauty Academy has five state-of-the-art salons that create an excellent realistic working environment for all practical treatments to take place.

What will you learn?

Aspects of Health & Safety, Employment Standards, Customer care are covered in Business Studies and reinforced in all practical sessions. Anatomy & Physiology of skin, nails, bones, muscles and circulatory systems are also included on the course. 


How will I be assessed:

You will be assessed via practical assessments, internal/external exams and/or assignments related to the units of  qualification as well as the production of a Beauty Therapy portfolio of evidence.

You will be assessed via practical assessment in a realistic environment. Your knowledge and understanding is further assessed through assignments and on-line testing.

Entry Requirements
  • GCSE passes in English, maths and science
  • Successful interview and initial assessment
  • Attend the skills test/taster day
  • You will need to demonstrate an enthusiasm for this subject area

Bridal Makeup Course

Overview:

Creating flawless Bridal makeup is an integral part of makeup artistry and an exciting genre of makeup to be a part of. This makeup is specialised and therefore not covered by glamour,  fashion or theatrical makeup.


Who is this course for?

This intensive  course is specifically designed for any makeup artist that wants to add to their current skills.

What will I learn during this course?

This professional bridal makeup course  provides a clear insight and basic training for success. Each student is guided  by an experienced tutor, through a carefully considered and specific balance of  practical, theoretical and working simulations.

This course includes:


  • The role of the bridal make-up artist
  • Long-wearing foundation and concealer application
  • Achieving flawless bridal skin
  • Bridal beauty eye make-up
  • Basic tear-proof eye lining and mascara technique
  • Long wearing lipstick application
