The Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (PGDCS) is an advanced program designed to equip professionals with specialized skills and knowledge in managing cybersecurity within organizations. This diploma focuses on governance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance strategies essential for effectively safeguarding digital assets and mitigating cyber threats. Participants delve into topics such as regulatory compliance, security policies, risk management frameworks, and strategies for addressing cyber threats in various industries. 

The program aims to train individuals to become proficient in evaluating, implementing, and overseeing cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Admission Criteria

Learners will need to be over the age of 19, and must demonstrate one of the following:

Bachelor Degree (or equivalent) 
OR
Level 6 qualification (or equivalent overseas qualification) 
OR 
Mature applicant with A level (or equivalent) and work experience

English requirements:
If the learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency at a minimum of CEFR (The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level C1 from a recognised English test provider or IELTS level 7.0-8.0 in each components.

This course focuses on following modules to be delivered generally over 1 academic year.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Cyber Security (15 credits)
Module 2: Risk Management in Cyber Security (15 credits)
Module 3: Cyber Security Governance and Compliance (15 credits)
Module 4: Cybersecurity Controls and Frameworks (15 credits)
Module 5: Threat Detection and Incident Response (15 credits)
Module 6: Security Architecture and Design (15 credits)
Module 7: Cyber Security Leadership and Management (15 credits)
Module 8: Legal and Regulatory Aspects of Cyber Security (15 credits)

How it is delivered

The programme will typically be delivered as a 1 year full time study or a total of 42 weeks (including assignment submission weeks). An academic year is divided into six learning blocks with 7 weeks duration each. There will be three (3) contact days per week or a total of twenty one (21) contact hours per week; and thirteen (13) hours of self‐directed learning per week.

How it is assessed

All units will be internally assessed by the delivering institute. Learner will need to show that they meet each of the assessment criteria detailed within each unit, to the required standard for the level of the unit.

Certificates are awarded a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade following assessment of the candidate’s portfolio of work. A assessor will examine the evidence and make a decision which is checked by the internal followed by the external verifier and passed for certification. The achievement rates for this qualification are outstanding. 

Grading System:

• Distinction: 70% - 100%
• Merit: 60% - 69%
• Pass: 50% - 59%
• Fail: Below 50%
