Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England

​

Overview:This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures.

It has three pathways:
•  Generic Health and Social Care
•  Dementia
•  Learning Disability

It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Health and Social Care Apprenticeship.

Duration:   Flexible.  You can usually complete it in a year or less.

Assessment

All units will be internally assessed by the delivering college. No units are assessed by examination in EUAAB qualifications. Student will need to show that they meet each of the assessment criteria detailed within each unit, to the required standard for the level of the unit.

Admission Criteria

Appropriate entry requirements to the level of study are in place to ensure that applicants who have the likelihood of completing the programme are accepted.

Students looking to enroll onto this course should meet the following criteria:

  • Be aged 16 Years or above
  • Possess a solid knowledge of the English language
  • Have a genuine desire to succeed

Unit EXL2367: Introduction to duty of care in health, social care

Unit EXL2541: The role of the health and social care worker
Unit EXL2662: Implement person-centred approaches in health and social care
Unit EXL2577: Contribute to health and safety in health and social care 
Unit EXL2741: Handle information in health and social care settings

Optional units:
Unit EXL2746: Understanding and enabling assisting and moving individuals 
Unit EXL2787: Support independence in the tasks of daily living 
Unit EXL2866: Undertake agreed pressure area care 
Unit EXL2891: Contribute to support of positive risk-taking for individuals
Unit EXL2999: Support individuals with specific communication needs
